This policy explains what information mikejalonen.com collects, why, and what is done with it. The site is a personal site operated by Michael Jalonen, a sole proprietor in San Juan Capistrano, California. It is not operated by, and does not share data with, any company he works for.

What is collected

  • Contact form. Your name, email address, chosen topic, and the message you write. These are submitted only when you press Send.
  • Mobile phone number. Collected only where you provide it directly, for example to receive text messages you have asked for.
  • Basic technical data. Standard web server and bot-protection data such as IP address and browser type, used to keep the form from being abused.

No accounts, no advertising trackers, and no third-party analytics profiles are used on this site.

How it is used

  • To read and reply to what you sent.
  • To send text messages to a number only where the owner of that number asked for them.
  • To prevent spam and automated abuse of the contact form.

Text messaging and your mobile information

We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Text messages sent from this operation are personal notifications and reminders requested by the recipient. They are not marketing. Message and data rates may apply. Who it is shared with

Your information is not sold, rented, or traded. It is shared only with the service providers needed to operate the site and deliver messages, and only for that purpose:

  • Cloudflare, website hosting and bot protection.
  • Resend, delivery of contact-form email.
  • Twilio, delivery of text messages.

Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it.

How long it is kept

Contact-form messages are kept in a personal email account for as long as they are useful for correspondence. Ask for yours to be deleted and it will be.

Your choices

  • Ask what is held about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted.
  • Stop text messages at any time by replying STOP.
  • Simply do not use the contact form if you would rather not submit anything.

California residents may request disclosure or deletion of personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act. Use the contact address below.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
